Banogue Notes April5th

All Ireland Final
The pinnacle of the Scór Sinsear calander is the All Ireland Final. This is truly an auspicious occasion when the cream of talented people from all four provinces, come together in competition. It is a wonderful evening’s entertainment for anyone attending as the standard in all competitions is exceptional. The INEC is a huge venue attached to the Gleneagle hotel so a wide variety of services are available there. For teams competing, it can be a bit daunting, as the stage is huge, the RTE cameras are there, and you are being watched by two or three thousand people. Highlights will be shown on RTE later on in the year.
We are delighted and proud of our Ballad Group who will be representing Banogue GAA on this historic occasion. It is a tremendous honour for any club to be represented on All Ireland Scór final day; indeed the All Ireland Scór Champions are presented with the same medal you get if you win Sam Maguire or Liam McCarthy and will be presented to you by the President of the GAA.
But a team would’nt have much fun if it had’nt support. We are very fortunate to have the best supporters in the country, who are great to celebrate. We have filled a bus on the last two outings, and the demand for All Ireland tickets has been marvellous, 57 booked. Some are travelling by car but we will need a bigger bus. For anybody who has’nt booked tickets, there will be some available at the door, so think about it!!!. There will be seats free on the bus and we’d love to fill it. The 2009 All Ireland Scór Sinsear starts in the INEC Killarney at 3pm on April 18th. Bus will be leaving Banogue Cross at 12 noon. A great occasion like this does’nt happen too often in the life of a small parish, so you’re support would be welcome.
