President Visit

Tuesday last was a special day in the life of the parish of Banogue when President Mary McAleese officially opened the Tots and Teens crèche. The President arrived approximately 2.30 p.m. and remained for over forty minutes meeting and talking to the management and the large congregation who came to see our President. A commemorative plaque was unveiled by the President and Fr. Joe Kennedy P.P. performed the blessing of the building. The day started with a large congregation of parents and parishioners who congregated from 1.30 p.m. where they were invited to refreshments in the community hall. It was a great honour for the parish of Banogue and its great to see small parishes and small communities where their work is recognised. Too often in commercial and political life small groups and enterprises are not recognised. On Tuesday last the management and staff of the crèche at Banogue was recognised for the role it played in the parish and districts. The day will be remembered for many years to come and wish the growth and development of the Tots and Teens crèche at Banogue.
